The photo and music are such a soothing combination Paula, warm enough I hope to keep your thoughts safe while melting and letting go the more troublesome. Easy enough to say I know . . .!
A lovely combination of image and music Paula. If you master the trick of successfully putting thoughts away safely let me know! I’m always looking for new ideas. π
Salut Yoris :). Cela a ete pris il y a quelques annees dans un ferry bougeant bien vite vers les iles de Malta :). J’adorais le coucher de soleil la bas π Merci por ton gentil commentaire π
The shutter speed all depends on the light conditions. Sometimes 1/2 sec, other times 30 seconds. But if you’re shooting Christmas lights outside make sure not to over expose and “blow out” the light so that all the details are lost. It’s always better to under expose, because you can still get details from the RAW file in an under exposed photo. If it’s over exposed and the details are lost, then there’s nothing to recover.
Sometimes multiple exposures are very handy. You can then create an HDR photo, or you can work on the ones that are good and delete the others.
BTW: I am talking about shooting pictures outside, but basically it’s the same if you’re shooting inside – you’ll probably just have to adjust the ISO.
I appreciate so much of your time and effort,CG! Thank you for sharing your expertise with a beginner π I meant 1/2 min. not 1/2 sec. π I also will begin to use RAW instead. HDR is kind of advanced stuff for me π
Your Canon supports RAW files, but I am not sure about your other camera Amy. HDR from bracketting is fairly easy. I suggest Photomatix programme. You take one underexposed shot, one overexposed and one normally exposed. It seemed like a sci-fi to me, but it is really simple. Just be still if you are doing it hand-held.
That sounds encouraging, Paula! I don’t mind to try new stuff, but I’m restricted by the time I have π Will give a try of the Photomatix. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
HDR only works in some cases π it does not guarantee best shots. My favourite photos are the ones that are not HDR, but it can help a lot in some cases.
Hello CG, What photo is stunning? The one in this post? I am glad you like the new looks here, I paid for this theme :). I am thinking about putting my old custom header back once I fit right size… I am interested as to what you think about putting my eyes header back?
It’s all up to you, but personally I like the new changes. When it comes to headers I really like Jeff’s, because it’s changing between a handful of selected photos on every reload.
Such a peaceful episode I just spent in your company, Paula. Many thanks.
The photo has a special glow. Could have been a Thursday one π The words you could put in a sack and drop off the quay, but they’d still come back to you.
Yes, thoughts act like this :S. That photo was taken on Malta beginning of January almost 3 years ago. It did not require any post processing π A magical place! Thank you for sharing your time with my memories.
Amazing photo, perfect for deep thoughts – why freeze them, why stop them – let them free and when they return as bright colors in our minds – if they don’t come back, so they wasn’t worth it… π π
And the best place to pour out those thoughts is the near or into the ocean. There’s this comforting feeling if I do it that way. Somehow, the constantly moving waters take those thoughts away as the winds purge them off me. I feel like this is the only place where they drift away when…
π it is very nice to read you. my heart is grateful, Sony. That was a view from a ferry boat beginning of January 3 years ago – not a scene I would usually see that time of year π My thoughts are fresher – they appeared the same day I posted this. Hope you will listen to music π xx
It’s a befitting song, Paula–definitely. I feel like I am in a car driving somewhere unknown but very happy…I must tell I felt that what they call frisson again just like when you let me listen to “For You” by Tin Sparrow. I had a hard time finding where to download that song by the way. But it’s worth the search so to speak.
Paula, I am inclined to like songs with this kind of theme. Mushy but ironically uplifting.
Did not understand .. have you managed to download T. Sparrow or not? My offer still stands π The one here is called (aereogramme-i-dont-need-your-love)
Was not able to find it via mp3skull and 4shared but doing a little trick (my last resort as always) via youtube did the job. I am talking about putting “litento” after www of where you found the stuff then soon it will convert that into mp3.
I just love the way you manage to put such words down with so much meaning behind them…. wish I could do it…
