In that case I will not click a like, in case you think I am quick on the mouse button. Shame really because as much as I post I also make an effort to read what others write. Sometimes I click like and sometimes not, but time is not there to make a commentry on everything. By the way I do like your photo.
Dear Paula,
that was my first idea too (before I read the comments): This is the female Thinker. I wouldn`t have associated “Reggretting”, rather “Melancholia” (like Dürer`s).
Lots of love
fine weekend

🙂 Thank you, Patti. I was confused with some comments that perceived it as “melancholic”. The statue was titled “pain”, but when I saw it I felt “regret”. It is comforting to see you have seen the same thing 🙂
Regret ou bien attente interminable….? Le nom de cette œuvre doit nous l’indiquer, quoi qu’il en soit cette femme semble plongée dans ses pensées.
Belle journée à toi Paula.
😀 and then there is the attached French song in which the female is asking for all the letters to be torn :D. The singer is a daughter of the guy that sang in my French video 😉
Dearest Paula,
what am I listening to? A good companion your melancholy photo!
Enjoy your weekend. x

I can see the sadness in her pose – it is almost as if she is weary and given up hope. The statue is beautifully made. Where did you see it Paula?

It was in Carrousel garden of Louvre. The sculptor is Aristide Maillot and the statue is titled “Pain”. Thank you, Colline.

She is definitely wearing the heavy burden of regret, she reminds me of Madame Bovary.

Is it possible that tis is a 3D interpretation of the Marguerite Duras book by the same name?

No, cause the statue dates from 1920, but a very nice thought, Allan 🙂
