**About Thursday’s Special: It is a ‘non-challenge’ challenge that appeals to bloggers eager to wake up their creativity and show their own ideas and interpretation of the world. I invite everybody interested to join in. There are no themes, titles and techniques set for your expression, there are no limits and restrictions (no red tape whatsoever). The only thing required is to post a photo post on Thursdays entitled “Thursday’s Special: (your theme/title)” (as explained in my Thursday’s Special introductory post), to provide a link to my Thursday’s Special post, and to leave a link to your post in the comments section of my post. If you like Thursday’s Special widget, feel free to grab it and post it on your blog.
Beautiful. I like how you use music also to set a mood. But if I actually ever saw a yellow sky like that I would probably run. But where to?

A gorgeous blend of colours. It’s amazing the ochre’s that can manifest as a result of atmospheric dust.

The buildings are kissed by the sun…just perfectly! Great light.
The music is lovely.
I’m not sure, but do you mean advanced photo settings on WordPress? I know they recently changed how you can edit and manage media on your posts. I need to go back and read that email.

It is washed in beautiful light. You have to click on the tag on the photo in edit mode. Then click on edit photo, and click on “image details”, then “scale image” and enter a value (in pixels) in the boxes. Hit “scale” and “Replace Image” (on the left margin). It’s a pain until you get used to it. I had to try several values to get the image small enough. It’s easier to scale the image before you upload it and that saves wasting your storage. Also, you can only scale down, no longer up. I can’t imagine who crops images after uploading, but you can do that after you scale. Good grief. I will be surprised if WP keeps this feature since I cannot fathom a reason for it. I liked the old “Advanced” setting. Hope that helps. I think your image will sharpen when you scale it. Although, it looks sharp enough to me. 🙂

Thank you very much George. I managed to make it possible to zoom in on the photo and I has been scaled down in the first place. It still does not answer me why some (and especially this one) of my photos lose so many details when I upload them. It is frustrating :(.

I came to shamefacedly apologize for giving you the dumb instructions when OBIOUSLY you know more about the subject than I do! I realized that you weren’t asking for directions. You were complaining about having lost our advanced option. I cannot imagine why WP would do that. WP does not optimize uploaded images like 500px and Flickr and every other “professional” site does. I think they don’t have to compete. Your image looks really good to me. I’m looking at it on an LED, 1080p, full HD monitor, and it looks perfect to me. 🙂

You’ve made me smile George. Thank you for your reassurance. I hope that WP will eventually do something to enable optimisation of uploaded images. Every time I read you on your blog, Max’s or here you crack me up. Warm regards, P.

Sublime! 🙂 I was gazing and listening then I read your ‘double click’, did, and lost the music. So I started again 🙂
I don’t mind the slight blurring in a composition like this. Adds to the atmosphere, for me. I love it, Paula.
But I accept that WP are playing very frustrating games at present. I no sooner learn something than I have to relearn it. Are they doing me a favour by keeping me on my toes?

They are not doing us any favours – they drive me crazy :D. I appreciate so much that you have listened to the tune – it is an authentic piece of Corsican traditional music 🙂 and I am happy that you liked the photo. You should visit it sometime Jo…

Are you recovered and back to work with your beloved colleagues again? I have a very sore stiff neck, which is, I suspect, from too much laptop time 🙂

I have, thank you my dear Jo. Today one of the big bosses assured me that I will not get sacked that I am too valuable and it has calmed me down a bit (a bit cause I am always suspicious). You should rest 😦 and put a nice scarf around your neck at home and especially when going out. Your readers will understand if you go silent… Hugs.
