That quote holds so true for when I travelled when I was young. Travelling alone was fine but it would have been nice to have someone to tell. 🙂 Amazing photograph.
Outstanding photo, love that color. I must say that with the exception of my wife and daughter I have no problem with solitude. I prefer to hike, backpack, and photograph alone much more than.
Well, I could not agree more. Solitude can be/is a great companion. It is very nice to catch up with you Jeff. I have disregarded all the blogs I like a lot too, especially since I started language teaching/learning (free of costs) blog :D. Thank you for everything 🙂
For the right person with the right mindset there is nothing wrong with being alone. Glad to hear you’ve been busy. Any thoughts/interest into trying to monetize the language blog? I’m sure there are plenty of people out there who’d be more than willing to pay to learn a second language. It would sure beat working for a slice of pizza 😉
Honestly, I never came close to considering it (making it profitable). Hubby suggested when my idea was born that I might provide an account for donations – so far the interest in my blog is so minimum that there is no point in providing an account 😀 (I really don’t mind – as long as I teach I will learn – and learning is something that makes me happy by itself 🙂 )
Perfect quote and so true – reminds me last year I met a person who praised selfishness as a necessary character traits – I then asked him who he would be selfish to when he want to be selfish – don’t think he got the point… 😀
Easy to see the mood of this berry, indeed blue… 😀
YES, suede it is. THANK YOU, Patti, for always coming up with the best description 🙂 I think the fact that I deliberately muted the background tones helped it stand out 😉
My back is killing me. Has been for three years. 😦
Tried sthg new last week. Didn’t work. Saw the Doc again today. We’ll try sthg else in a fortnight. 🙂 We’ll see how it goes!
Anyway, a hand is muuuuch worse! Content que ça aille mieux! 🙂 Bonne fin de semaine Paula.

😦 your back 😦 Is it sciatica 😦 Can you work? What is your job? I am so sorry to hear that, Brian. If physiotherapy is not helping I dont know what will 😦
Lumbar and sciatica… 😦 Going to therapy right now. Will try something else in a couple of weeks. 🙂 Then find a swimming pool nearby and swim.
As far as working, I’m a market researcher. Had a company of my own for fifteen years. Sold it. Just doing consultancy now. No problemo! Cuando ves el dolor que otros sufren… I’m ok. Il faut faire avec!
Bon week-end!
Beautifully photographed, Paula. To truly appreciate solitude, we need to have experienced being in a crowd. Can you guess who I took that quote from? 🙂
Have you ‘injected’ the blue colour, Paula, or was it that way already? It’s a striking shot, whichever way it happened and I like it very much. 🙂
As an afterthought, Paula- I was up-to-date with your lessons up to 12 but don’t have any prospects of continuing this weekend. I’ll get to them eventually 🙂
I shoot raw and I need to post process my images. I remember it being that blue. I did not notice you having problems with our friends’ over edited images.
I asked because I know there is a technique where you can impose a patch of colour on black and white and it reminded me of that process. It wasn’t a criticism. 😦
What a photo Paula. Suggests a heap of ideas about solitude: it’s splendour (that magnificent blue), but also the chewed up, neglected feeling it can sometimes produce. The image is so pared away it actually glows. Thanks for a Sunday treat (I know! I’ve been hanging out in the “real” world for a few days.)

It wasn’t a blueberry, and hubby would not let me experiment 😀 If I had been alone, it would have probably ended in my mouth….

That soft suede blue is such a stand-out and, as solitary as it is, it really does own the space! A beautiful shot Paula!

A very striking image, Paula. I do enjoy solitude, but only for part of my day. The evenings would get lonely without someone to share them. xx 🙂
