I love the way the light captures the dapples and the flowers where the beast is grazing. Beauty indeed.
I’ve put b&w on hold while I battle with new learning, which is as slippery as a watermelon seed.

I assume you are referring to the photo of a girl in tiger shirt. Technically, it is the third photo (widget also is one).

Gorgeous photo of the horse, which is something that I would not have chosen to put in monochrome, but it really workds. The background forest provides an excellent way for the horse to really stand out. For me, have chosen a nostalgic photograph for your challenge, Paula. Reminds me so much of family Sundays at my Grandmother’s house. I have added your widget the only way I can, as a jpg image to the post. Absolutely gorgeous, Paula….so serene, yet with that wild flame hidden somewhere deep (or not so deep) inside. And the “marked” forehead…like a sign not to be tamed. ๐ Majestic shot for a wonderful theme.

I am overwhelmed with your entry, Ese. Nothing better than the wild sea, and a terrific way to capture it. Frozen stroke and foamy textures. I LOVE IT!
I took the photo of horses under dying light (there is a little one following behind ;)), but I think the poor light gave them softer features and made the capture more film-like. I really appreciate your comment as this very well may be my favourite shot in my gallery. Thank you ๐

Nice post Paula. I’ve pretty much stayed away from teh computer the whole weekend. Now the weekend is nealry finished, but I did manage to check out you B&W Sunday and post a photo for it.
Is this horse a friend of the donkey that you posted the other day? They both seem to have the same attitude ๐

Yes, you guessed right Jo. It seems the same every year. November is not my month ๐ That bunch was fascinating. I had to run out of the car to take photos, though the light was dying. I am in the office tomorrow, many of us are working sick – it is going to build up my immunity. Hugs

It takes a kind of photographer’s eye and sensitivity to appreciate photography and you have plenty ๐ So far, I haven’t been fully happy with any of the comments ๐ I mean until you came ๐

Paula, I agree with Madhu’s comment above. This photograph has a nice, timeless feel to it. It’s the B&W tones which bring out that effect. I also like how you’ve captured the horse in it’s natural surroundings. Wild horses in unspoiled wilderness is always a beautiful sight.
