Glorious light in the first and last photos, and just the cloud for nubilous – five excellent compositions to spur us on. Thank you, Paula, and lovely to have you back. Thursday is not the same without you 🙂
All your photos are wonderful but the first one stands out for me. I’d love to stay in that lakeside (?) cottage also. Loved the music. The words you chose for this week were good. I hadn’t heard the word nubilous before and it is one I will remember. Mine https://irenewaters19.com/2017/08/10/five-words-thursdays-special/
There are lots of words I don’t know. One reason I like reading on a kindle – so easy to find out meanings. I’m too lazy to go and get a dictionary with a print book.
Welcome back Paula! Love the sunlight on Nautical and the sun in setting. Hope you enjoyed the time away. Love the song- haven’t heard it in a long time always loved it. Will make my choices soon!
What a beautiful, beautiful sunset with all the hill chains in various layers! And I like the fact that I had to look up and hence, learn a new word today! Bowing to economy, I tried to get all five words in one photo: https://picturesimperfectblog.wordpress.com/2017/08/10/holy-five/
I like the song but I must admit I was singing Fog on the Tyne, Paula. 🙂 🙂 First and last are my favourites.
I lost a lovely friend today and am not in the mood to post, but Tish is not wrong. You have been missed.
Jo, I am so sorry to hear that :(. (I don’t know that song, and luckily I did not see fog on Tyne yet). Be well. I appreciate your visit on such a day. Hugs
I’ve been missing your splendid photos and the generosity of this challenge, which often provides me with a new word: nubilous this time. They are all studies in light one way and another.
Yes, easing would be the right thing, but no such luck. Work volume has tripled in my absence, but remembering all the great trips we made during holidays keeps me in a good mood. Thank you, Lisa for being so prompt 🙂
I thought I’d left a comment but obviously didn’t… how rude! Creeping senility, must be.
I love the shot of the cows the best
I was always told if cows are sitting rain is imminent.
Hi P…. it is Y here and just making some quick blog rounds this week – and glad i caught this post with “pick a word”
and in your post here – I want ti jump right inside that last photo -the nautical one…. so inviting
– but all were good and had a nice connection to the word.
was the growth photo taken on a tree? is it lichen (just curious)

Glad you’re back, Paula! By the way…nebulous? Not nubilous?

Nubilous from Latin nūbilus

OK….not in my dictionary, but it appears to be synonymous with nebulous when I looked it up online!!

“nebulous” is used in Croatian as “nebulozan” meaning non-sensical that’s why I avoid it 😀
