It’s part of many traditions to light candles in December.
Even though I don’t need a special reason to light a candle, this one was lit on purpose as the second Advent candle which symbolises peace.
With holidays approaching I am sure you’ll be able to find some traditions and share them in images. I look forward to seeing them and I wish you all a peaceful Thursday and a peaceful end of the year.
Candles are becoming more common in Australia however at Christmas our candles tend to be melting so we don’t frequently light them (apart from some churches). Peace however, is something I would light a candle for despite the heat. Our Christmas traditions: https://irenewaters19.com/2017/12/14/australian-tradition-thursdays-special/
And the same to you, Paula. Have a peaceful time (all the time). The candle looks wonderful. Most years I’m too late with my advent wreath but by the second or third candle I’m usually with it.
Hello Sue, I am happy to receive your good wishes and so pleased that you like the post. I will be here throughout holidays. It’s crazy busy at work. Best wishes to you for a good end of the year and very best in 2018.
Hello Paula and long time no chat. I adore this beautiful image and in turn wish you peace now and always. I am hoping this finds you well and not too stressed with workload. Sending hugs across the miles .xo
Thank you for thinking of me dearest Sue. I have an impossible situation at work which I can’t solve and which is affecting my health. Your good vibes are so welcome. xx
A lovely composition Paula. I have gotten out of the habit of lighting candles (except in a power failure) and this photo reminds me how special they are. Wishing you a not too busy festive season and a wonderful (hopefully more relaxed) 2018.
Jude xx
Thank you, lovely. I have been having Internet troubles (disconnected by the provider and moving from several offices at work….) at the end I saw your post and thought it was Bushboy’s, don’t know how, but everything got mixed up.
And it is, after all, Chanukah. So there should be more than enough candles for everyone around the world 🙂

Like you I rarely need an excuse to light a candle Paula, but at this time of year it’s particularly symbolic. Beautiful photo. ❤️
