SUNDAY POST: Surrounded

Ages ago a city vanished under the raging lava to be uncovered 17 centuries later and shown to the world. The dead city with so many traces of life remains as a reminder of once advanced civilisation. In the middle of the yard of an anonymous house surrounded by ancient columns stands a tree, the subject of my take on the  Sunday post challenge….

SUNDAY POST: Wonderful

If you look up the definition of wonderful you’ll see that it means inspiring delight, pleasure, admiration, astonishment, or marvel. I felt all that an early October morning when I took a path around a gorgeous mountain lake and saw the morning mist lifting slowly to reveal one of the most beautiful lakescapes. Wishing you a wonderful Sunday…

CBBH Photo Challenge: BLUE

There is no better time to remember the blue skies than on the first day of November with the rain pouring heavily outside. Later this month I am going to Rome with a hope of getting some more of Italian sunshine… till then let’s enjoy some snaps of Pompeii, Vesuvius, Amalfi and Capri. I give you the best of Italy, with a song interpreted…

Goodbye Autumn!

It seems that autumn has bypassed us here this year. If I hadn’t been to a magical Italian lake the first week of October, I wouldn’t have been able to shoot any coloured foliage. Now with 0 degrees Celsius almost freezing the ground outside, I have to say goodbye to autumn before even saying hello to it. Here are some photos I took in…

Weekly Photo Challenge: HAPPY

The surest way to reach happiness is to accept the things you can’t do anything about, and to change the things you can, and want to. I can’t do anything about harsh winters or scorching hot summer temperatures here, but I can choose to spend my summer holidays in a colder climate, and I can travel southward in winter. The following series of photos…

SUNDAY POST: FAVORITE SPOT

Favourite spot is the inner garden each of us should cultivate in our heart. It can be found anywhere regardless of the sights/images that surround you… Beauty can be found almost everywhere, if you bring your inner garden with you. Maybe the attached track and photo will say it better for me.

Weekly Photo Challenge: NEAR and FAR

This was taken one windy summer day in July 2010, just above Val Venosta during our 10-hour drive to Lago di Resia just to see its famous church tower submerged in water. You’ll get to see the tower on some other occasion, for now it is just windy plains, mountains and floating clouds. Here is some music to go with it 03 – Drifting away…

SUNDAY POST: Reflection

This is the place where I come to reflect, to meditate…my oasis in the mountains, the emerald lake with the most beautiful reflections in the Alpine region of Italy, Lago di Braies. Join me for a walk around the lake, and listen to the selected tune

Monday in Colours

I got tired of my black and white scheme, though many of you have recognised it as my MUST from now on :D. So today I have decided to put some colour back to my pa        Something old, something new      Something borrowed, something blue       And a silver sixpence in her shoe. Something old – the old…

Black and White Stuff – Sequel

I have decided this is going to be B&W week, not in my dressing style but in my blog appearance. It has been great fun converting my old shots into black and white…. Maybe you will like them too 🙂

Hope for the Hopeless

I am not into photo post-processing, enhancing or doing miracles with photos in Photoshop – for the moment I am only trying to mend a bit what went wrong in the photo writing process – that is what raw shots are for, right? One of the reasons is because I still don’t know what I am doing when I open Lightroom or Aftershot (Bibble)….
