Autumn? Not quite here yet, I am afraid…. I hope to see some autumn colours in this town in a few weeks, that is if the torrential rain that has been falling since Thursday does not sweep all the leaves off the branches or leaves them rotten. However, I’ve noticed one unmistakable sign of Autumn: pumpkins 😀 I can’t carve them, I can’t cook…
Come on, come out The weather is warm… Watching the sky Watching a painting coming to life Shifting and shaping Staying inside It all goes it all goes by Stopping the time Rushing, waiting Leave it behind Shifting and shaping Keep it inside It all goes it all goes it all goes by It all goes passing by It all goes passing by –…
Saturday morning … time to get up, and go to the market. September is bursting with colours. Everybody is here, buying goodies for the week to come. People are rushing in all directions, most of them having breakfast, just purchased at the local bakery, while stuffing their bags with fruits and veggies… and I am clicking and clicking ….. I can’t resist those colours…
This was taken one windy summer day in July 2010, just above Val Venosta during our 10-hour drive to Lago di Resia just to see its famous church tower submerged in water. You’ll get to see the tower on some other occasion, for now it is just windy plains, mountains and floating clouds. Here is some music to go with it 03 – Drifting away…
“Just living is not enough,” said the butterfly, “one must have sunshine, freedom and a little flower.” ~Hans Christian Andersen While I was chasing butterflies in the mountains, I remembered this song from the French movie Le Papillon (2002). Give it a listen
I have decided to stay in Istria for the rest of the week, even if it means going back 12 years in time 😉 What you are about to see is a little town called Motovun, perched on top of a hill (hardly 277 m altitude), but that odd summer morning it was bathing in clouds. I opened my eyes and realised that if…
Does a municipality counting about 800 souls constitute an urban settlement? I think so, and then I may be wrong. Sorry WP challengers, but you are not likely to see any metropolis shots from me, not any time soon anyway, and I can’t just hop an airplane to go to my native town to take photos for this challenge. Instead, I am going to…
As much as I like green, there are scenes in nature that look better in B&W, such as this birch tree. Some of you may recognize this tree from my previous post Merge, but recycling is in, or so I have been told 😉 Here is a song by Alan Parsons Project… Click on 09 – Dreamscape
What do you get when your eyes merge with a tree? …. a tree soul 😀 Here is a song by Porcupine Tree. Click on Buying New Soul (I still rage and wage my little war…I’m a shade and easy to ignore)
There is a lady blogger on WP that did something not that unusual for the English; she packed her bags and moved to Spain to catch some sun and teach English. While there she learned the Spanish ways, but never left her English customs behind ;). She still shouts “white rabbits” for good luck on the first day of each month, only now she…
Honestly, I never expected a challenge with WRONG theme… there are so many “wrong things” in this world, but most of us (I hope) when we go out there, try to see the beauty in everything. So, finding wrong is definitely not my approach when I am behind the camera. This made me very peeved when I opened the challenge notification mail to tell…
