Thursday’s Special: Still Life

You have probably seen this bunch before in B&W  😉

P.S. I really hate the look of the new audio player :(. Remember that elegant, discreet button I used to have above my photos? Well, it has been removed only to be replaced with this long black monstrosity. I have already complained on WordPress forum, but they are not going to do anything about it. The latest changes are all for the worse in my opinion: the optimisation of uploaded photos sucks too, and if I want to be picky with font colours as I usually am, now I am limited to the basic palette. I wonder why they have to ruin good features on the site – grrrrrr.

About Thursday’s Special: It is a ‘NON-CHALLENGE’ challenge that appeals to bloggers eager to wake up their creativity and show their own ideas and interpretation of the world. There are no themes, titles and techniques set for your expression, there are no limits and restrictions; no red tape whatsoever. Post a photo on Thursdays, title it “Thursday’s Special: (your theme/title)” (as explained in my Thursday’s Special introductory post), provide a link to my post so that I may see it and include it in featured posts. If you like the Thursday’s Special widget, I will be honoured if you grab it and post it on your blog.

  1. I love this Paula. I had poppy heads in my wedding bouquet eons ago, and fell in love with them from that moment.

  2. I didn’t know poppy heads are this beautiful. Love the music. Be back later. When are you leaving?

  3. You always take the most amazing shots Paula and this still life is such a great capture! Loved the B&W as well. 😀

Yes, I’ve always wondered why they must change things that worked well and bothered no one. One of the reasons why I hate Facebook so much. I do hope WP doesn’t become a second Facebook. 😦

    • Thank you very much Drake. I am sorry for not linking sooner. I did not have the connection in London and with a guide dragging us around it did not leave me any time to look at the blog.

      • Yeah glad to hear (read) you again – was feared that the “beefeaters” had locked you and your hubby in the cellar of Tower… 😉 😉 😎

  6. I will miss your music if you stop playing it Paula. It is a pity that the people at WordPress feel the need to change things that work.

  7. I’m glad you got that off your chest, and I agree. Today is May 1. I hope the pressures you mentioned before have eased.
    Lovely photo.

    • 😀 Lovely to read you Draco. I was in London as of 1 of May till last night, that’s why I wasn’t able to connect. It feels good to vent. Boy, I have some catching up to do here. Thank you 🙂

  8. A very pretty bouquet, Paula. I enjoyed the song, even if the button is ugly. 🙂 I don’t know why they have to keep changing things that work perfectly. 😦

  10. This does look good in color Paula.
I know hat you mean by WP changes, it seems like they go with the philosophy… If it ain’t broke, keep monkeying with it until it is.

  12. I actually prefer this picture in colour more that in B/W.

I too find some of WP’s latest adaptations questionable.

    • Thank you, Allan 🙂 I do like it in colour better too. I have been away in London for the last 5 days… will catch up now 🙂

  13. Hello Amy 🙂 I am sorry I wasn’t able to log on sooner. I did not have Internet connection during my stay in London. Let me see what you have 🙂

  14. That’s what I ‘love’ about WP- you go away for 10 minutes and everything changes! Or am I talking about life, Paula? How was London? I hope you didn’t fall foul of the tube strike? I usually avoid the tube anyway, but it can sometimes make life easier, if you don’t mind behaving like a bad-tempered mole 🙂
It’s my last day in Poland and I’m just having a quick scoot around the blogs before breakfast.

    • Life too changes too quickly. London was interesting. Yes, we too suffered from the tube strike though it was over by the time we got there. I liked the place very much, but I realised I don’t like travelling in a group all that much. On the first day I got a bad injury in a public loo..England would toughen me up within minutes 😀

      • Sorry to hear about your injury, Paula! 😦 Hope you’re are alright?
Love your image of the poppies. They look great all year round, don’t they?

        • Don’t get me wrong. I loved England and I can even picture myself living there, but taking a guided tour has its risks … It seems that my health is even worse in the office than in London :D. I will be OK Jo. I have missed you. I know I haven’t been a good blogger recently…
