For the last Thursday’s Special in 2017 I am offering you a challenge that IS NOT, and yet it might be the most challenging one so far ūüėĬ†

I would like you to post again what you consider to be your best shot posted this year.

The end of this year has been a bit more stressful than usual for me, but I am hopeful that things will get better eventually. I would like to thank all my friends here for constant support and positive wishes.

Love and best wishes for 2018!

P.S. See you again on 4th January with a new TS.

On Sundays I normally publish a photo challenge in black and white that I call Black & White Sunday. I usually come up with a fresh theme for it, but once a month I publish a recurrent (monthly) theme: after and before where you are supposed to show the same photo, regardless of the subject, in both monochrome and colour.

This is a way of encouraging you not only to set your camera to black and white setting, but to shoot in colour and to convert it into black and white in post processing. Hopefully you will enjoy this exercise in seeing and editing. After all it is all about fun. Have a  beautiful day!

  • leave a comment under this post¬†

I am very glad to see your entries for the challenge. Please check them out by clicking on the links bellow:

This has  been a busy, exhausting month, but a day at the sea made a difference.

This is my offering for¬†Cardinal Guzman’s monthly challenge Changing Seasons. Hop over there and see if you can contribute with your entries.

A reminder: If you haven’t seen it already, the new Thursday’s Special is on with the theme minimalism. You may post for it by the 28 December. On the 29 we will be doing retrospective for this year. Happy holidays, everybody!¬†

A Walk along the Adriatic Coast: Novi Vinodolski

On the North of Croatian Adriatic there lays a small picturesque town of New Vinodol (Novi Vinodolski) that played an important role in Croatian history. Having to resist the attacks of Turks from the East and those of Venice from the West, the town needed several fortifications. The bellow gallery showcases a photo of the town’s only entirely preserved fort from the 13th century, as well as photos of a 15th century church of Saint Philip and Jacob, a traditional fishing boat, and a statue honouring soldiers from WWII.

Stay tuned for another post from Croatian littoral soon …

Weekly Photo Challenge: SUMMER

I wish I could say ‚ÄúSummer’s in the air‚Äú, but it¬†is not the case here, not yet. The weather has been wild for the last couple of weeks.

Here I give you a few snapshots of summer the way it is in the Adriatic. I can still recall the smell of the sea, the late summer breeze and the joy that sounds of waves splashing over rocks bring me.

Summer as we know it in Croatia….
