Weekly Photo Challenge: Street Life

You may have noticed already that I am not a huge fan of streets and street life, that I prefer to explore hills and lakes and stroll by the coast. However, streets are part of my daily life and every now and then I make them subject of my photos. This collage shows the views I see almost daily around my workplace.

The attached song is a very old one and it is dedicated to my home town Zagreb.

I would have liked to see the scarecrow a bit more prominently. But great photos! Especially that first one!

  11. I think I’m almost the opposite of you. I love photographing people “in the wild” … street photography is my main thing. I enjoy looking at your usual pictures maybe because they offer a complement. That said, I think these are excellent photos! Well done šŸ™‚

  12. Second picture in gallery is one of my favorite views of Zagreb. It shows city life in layers, modern life fusing with centuries old. It is shame that cathedral is still in scaffolds it is now almost quoter of century hidden from view but as it looks like it’ll soon be free to dominate city scape in it’s full beauty. Really nice sound and vision selection for street life of Zagreb šŸ™‚

  24. There’s a lot of grey stone about in some of the Polish cities too, Paula. A little depressing until the blossom comes along to brighten them up. My eyes were inevitably drawn back to Bonifaccio, though. Just the memory makes me smile.

    2. Hello Allan, I tried to reply to your comments under individual pics, but sometimes it is impossible :S. I have no idea about the costs of the works on our cathedral, but it is the cathedral of the capital, and there is no way they would let it to ruins :). The renovations have been going on for more than 20 years (exactly because of costs). I have been informed that it will take another five years till it is finished.
