Thursday’s Special: Portrait

Today I’ve decided to show a portrait of my cactus taken at the time while he was still breathing and shining. Maybe you remember what he looked like on his last day. I have never found out what particular species he was, but he used to be special to me. I’m inclined to believe that his premature departure is owed to his accidental fall and not to my extensive care.

This Thursday you are invited to share a portrait photo (or several of them) or post whatever you find inspiring at the moment. Remember, this is a theme-less non-challenge and you can go wild 😉 For more details please see the original TS post.

Wow, what a cheerful green creature! It is so chubby and hug-able, not cactus’y at all! I’m sorry it passed away.. It would be hard to replace such a cute thing. I’m delighted to see the cactus resurrection. I’m not a huge fan of cactus but this one is juicy and yourphotography does it great honour. I see I may have been mistaken about the nature of cactus.

I’ve actually managed to post portraits today, following your theme instead of a non-theme. My subjects are photographed in their world: I’m too hefty and slow to get close ups, although my lithe granddaughter can.

    Well thank you back for providing the prompt. And isn’t google amazing that one can do so much virtual exploration. And yes, there are some nice houses for sale here, and yes they are expensive, or indeed overpriced. We are lucky to live here though, this despite a few issues with flooding and mega-truck traffic that doesn’t fit in the medieval road system. But then there is always the sky…

Wow, Paula, I must admit this has been a very lovely, handsome looking cactus. And those vibrant green “cones” are definitely not screaming “Danger, stay away!” – like cactus usually does. I remember the other photo you shared not that long ago, and I am sorry you both had to part ways.

what a cute post – and looks like it was a nice cactus – I will have to go and read the other post after this – but this year I lost a large aloe vera plant that I had since 2008 – and it was very dear to me – and we used it for burns or for days of getting took much sun – and well, I miss it much and can relate. 🙂
