These are this week’s contributions for Black and White Sunday:
I recognise this, because of the staircase. It’s a fascinating design, but not for people who suffer vertigo. 🙂

I know you don’t suffer. I’ve seen your pictures of Sydney 😀

It looks like some sort of watch tower but watching for what? 🙂

What a fantastic tower! Those steps are fascinating, but I don’t think I could climb them.

Hello on a Sunday morning, mistress of the black and white and music. And you’ve just become the first item in my Pocket.
Now to the photo. So beautifully atmospheric and derelict, and a lovely background of landscape and clouds. As always, everything is perfect and so sharply clear.
I hope relaxation has set in. Have a bit of Potato Point Peace!

😀 So nice to hear from you Meg 🙂 Sunday would be perfectly peaceful if it weren’t for terrible drilling neighbours. You are always so kind to me. Much obliged. 🙂

Paula the staircase is fascinating and I am so curious to know why it is on the outside of the building.

I recognize this building for a few reasons, Paula. First, because it has so much “character” that the process of being imprinted in my memory happened naturally and inevitably. Second, because I kept wondering and trying to guess what it is. And last but not least – it is a really beautiful photo. 🙂

You are right, Ese. It is a most extraordinary structure and many visitors here have recognised it from before. I so love your alone feather contrasted beautifully against rough grass. Thank you for your poetic contribution 🙂

Paula, nice image only I feel the tower is a bit too central. Given the glorious clouds and background to the left, I would crop some of the dark trees to the right. Just a suggestion and only trying to be helpful. MM 🍀

L’ho riconosciuto anch’io…..
Anche anime piace molto in bianco e nero.
Non ridere , ma sai che questa torre ha una fisionomia? Due occhietti ( le finestre) e una bocca che grida( la porta)….
Forse e’ triste perché e’ abbandonato!

Si, si e vero. You are not the first one to see this. I was the first and then some other bloggers. Ti adoro Anna 😀

Your photo truly suggests abandonment Paula. I for one am thankful that is no need any longer for watchtowers such as these.

The weirdest thing happened. I downloaded your image on my PC and when I open my Downloads folder to show me thumbnails your black and white photo is in colour there – what an extraordinary thing. Now I can see it both in B&W and in colour! 😀 This castle ruin in Auvergne looks too enchanting to be missed. Thank you for all the quaint places you share with me; I am noting all them down for my future trips. Thank you, mate 🙂

superb shot !! I ponder, what would the thoughts going through the mind of that abandoned watch tower ?? Does it heart jangle with the sound of lost souls ?? Does the sun warm it’s abandoned heart ?? I can spend hours sitting on those stairs and holding an interesting conversation with this tower 😀
hi Paula 🙂 I am new on the blogging horizon. Can I participate in this challenge ?? If yes, how ??

I think I recognize this shot, have you posted this one in colour in the past? No matter, it’s a great shot and reminds me of a very sad face. The texture below the windows reminds me of tears. Perhaps crazy but that’s what I think of.
