My thought of the day: We live in a fragile ego-system.
If you want to join my Black and White Sunday, feel free to grab the widget bellow and post a photo (or several of them) for this or some other theme of your choice. Just make sure it is black & white and link it to this post.
These are this weekโs contributions for Black and White Sunday:
This is an artichoke, Patti, though it must be beyond recognition in this state ;). Thank you very much for your comments. They are always appreciated.
๐ I can’t go back to check on it now because our botanical garden is closed, but I am afraid your prediction has come true. Thank you very much, Sue.
Fragile ego-system…what a brilliant way to put it, Paula! We do, indeed…sometimes tip-toeing, other – just running straight through, unable to stop. I do at least, unfortunately.
Your photo reveals the beautiful details that are always vital but for one or another reason often unnoticed.
I enjoyed the music (who is performing?), a lot! Funnily enough, listening to the first chords, I had the feeling “They Don’t Care About Us” was coming… ๐
Here’ s what flashed in mind this time: http://esengasvoice.wordpress.com/2014/11/16/black-white-sunday-withered/
Hello dear Ese, this is music by French singer Indila (Ego is the title of the song). You could hear her earlier on this blog on this post https://bopaula.wordpress.com/2014/05/29/thursdays-special-mini-world. I am happy you like both the image and the sound. Have a great Sunday!
Great choice for the theme! I love how you’ve used B&W tones to create the mood. It’d been a while since I ‘visited’ you Paula:)! Thoroughly enjoyed looking at all the photographs! Hope all is well with you ๐
It was easy since I came up with the “theme”. Nothing drastic happening over here (for now) Uday, but I have been feeling very faint and exhausted. Haven’t been out except for work for three weeks, can hardly do anything in the house either.
Not this week, and cutting down on visiting and commenting some blogs have helped I guess, but I am a bit worried now, since my weeks pass just with work, publishing photos (not taking new ones). This week I wasn’t able to study or to teach languages or to work on my other blog. I feel pretty useless….
Poor sad sunflower, well and truly withered! Can’t help thinking this is what I look like (and very often feel like!) after I wash my hair.

I’m so relating at the moment! I’m trying to teach myself a new crochet pattern. Being a beginner, it’s trial and error. But I’m not licked yet! HA!

Oh my……..this is such a brilliant capture and title, Paula. Love the music even though I don’t understand a word. ๐

I remember that you told me once that you liked all music in French. Is that still true? The title is Ego, sung by Indila.

Lovely, Paula. Often the withered phase has a beauty and delicacy that the robust phase lacks. Your shot also has an eeriness about it.
I’m just back from photographing ribbons of bark and dead blady grass – amongst other things. But b & w is for another day!
Have a relaxed and unwithered week – and a hug from the southern hemisphere.

If it is any consolation, I don’t feel much hotter than this withered artichoke now. Horrible weekend over here – totally sick.
