As he was coming running down the hill this braying donkey was determined to defend himself, several other donkeys, a pony and a herd of sheep.

He looks remarkably fierce for a beast that we are led to think of as gentle.

He really is gentle 🙂 A few minutes later he ate from my hand, but the second he saw us coming he had to stand up for himself, there were three she donkeys with him, a female pony and a herd of sheep – it was his responsibility to defend them 🙂
