Twice a month or more I invite blogger friends to host a guest photo challenge on my blog. This Thursday the guest challenger is Yvette who has just started a new blog highwaysandtrails.wordpress.com. You may know her from priorhouse.org. Please read her guest post and join us for this Thursday with the theme: street photography/portraits.

These are the entries for this challenge. Click on the titles:
So excited about this challenge. Love your photos, especially the second which is like something from a magazine. Here is my entry – a series of photos taken in Savusavu http://lisadorenfest.com/2015/06/18/police-parade/
Fitness magazine? π LIsa, thank you for sharing this special post with us. The entire series is excellent, but I picked one photo that I especially like to display here π
You’ve got a great eye Paula. I just had a walk through of all of the other submissions to this challenge and 9 times out of 10, the one that you picked to display was my favorite of the post. Was such a treat to ‘meet’ so many great photographers through this challenge (as well as see some wonderful images from old friends). I’ll be back. Thanks again.
My worst subject in all the world, Paula- I groaned when I saw the subject π Contemplating has a lovely feel to it and the other two are so clear and sharp. It’s not your normal choice of subject either, Paula, but you’ve made a superb job of it. π It wouldn’t be a challenge if it wasn’t challenging, would it? Keep smiling!
π (No, not my favourite subject at all :D), but in 10 days I’ll have more street portraits in B&W that I actually like π Thank you for coming here this morning with your warm smile. Have a good day, Jo.
Great street shots Paula. The man with the phone could be anywhere in the world not noticing the lovely view.
Minehttp://irenewaters19.com/2015/06/18/thursdays-special-street-portraiture-in-vietnam/
I went to a conference where an architect gave a paper on designing the space in a city to be so interractive that the consumer would have no desire to use their mobile phone. An interesting concept.
When you took these, was it from chest level or hip level? I can’t teach myself to do that.My problem is that I have to have a camera glued to my eye and shoot and then everybody notices me
actually it was with a tilt screen camera (small sony RX100 2) from the belly level ;-), I look at the tilted screen all the time, (not once glancing at people), pretend that I am fiddling with the camera. (with Nikon I also have to have it glued to my eye)
Nice clicks Paula. True to your spirit you continue to experiment..with subjects this time π Always inspiring to see someone stepping out of her comfort zone..
If you stick around, you will see some in B&W really soon. I think you still don’t know me well. I displayed a thumbnail of your linked post, but I should really play by the rules and from now on link to fresh posts made for the challenge.

Hi Paula – picked up on your challenge from Sue Judd and since I too love street photography I offer up my selection. I like your selections. I adore street photography but am very reluctant to do it myself. The way you did it (spending some time at the same location – and thus making yourself ‘invisible’ – observing and casually taking shots) is my favourite way.
