Thursday’s Special: Gold inside (response to guest challenge)

When I got the idea of inviting fellow bloggers to participate on my blog as guest photo challengers I honestly did not believe that I would manage to gather such a group of amazing talented photographers. I am particularly honoured and happy to have Ron participate today with his Gold inside theme. Please have a look at the linked post and show us what “gold inside” means to you.

My response to this challenge is an abstract close-up captured by shooting through holes of a small plastic container for clothes pegs.

  1. Brilliant idea Paula. I like the effect – it is like an abstract painting.

    1. 🙂 Thank you, Meg. I thought of you during my holiday wondering how you liked being a guest in my country. I do it once in about 10 years and every time I wonder if things will finally get better and if people will adopt some of the hospitality and charm that Italians have. Anyway, it has been a break that I needed though very short and now we are having 16 degrees and rain in the middle of the summer and at work my bosses have piled extra work for me, but I am not complaining just explaining why I haven’t been to your place as yet. See you in a bit.

      1. Stay relaxed in the face of weather, work and bosses! It sounds as if you had a great break.

I loved being a guest in your country. My three Airbnb hosts were beyond charming, and the pharmacist too. My only complaint was a cappuccino that was all fluff and no coffee! Easily fixed with an espresso with more coffee than ever before.

You’re welcome at my place, whenever you fancy. But only then, and obligation-free.

As I explained I was already writing my post in my head when you advised me of the theme so sadly it does not relate to the golden hour, but I hope you’ll like it anyway. https://restlessjo.wordpress.com/2015/07/30/restoration-2/

    1. Yours is a perfectly apt response to Ron’s theme. Thank you, Jo! It felt nice to remember your first post about Delaval Hall, and to see it now in its full glory. I’m glad you like my take on the gold inside 😀 I like Neil Young and his harmonica – definitely uplifting.

  11. Unfortunately, gold is not used as much as it used too. These mosaics were done early 20 century: https://geriatrixfotogallerie.wordpress.com/2015/07/30/wartburg-gold-mosaic/

    1. You are right. Gold should be used more often. At first glance I thought that these mosaics were much older. Thank you for your beautiful entry.
