Black & White Sunday: Convergence

Convergence is the act of converging, merging, uniting.

If you have skills or resources to merge photos (or shoot in camera double exposures) you can show it for this theme – that’s one way to interpret it.

Other ways are to find a point where several other points (beings, things etc.) cross, come together. Think of confluence, concurrence, meetings, encounters, mingling. I think I have said enough 😀 .  It’s up to you now. Have a good and creative Sunday! Your entries may be submitted any time between now and the next Black & White Sunday.

P.S.
While doing research for this challenge I stumbled upon this great quote that I must share:
“To photograph is to hold one’s breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It’s that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy.”
– Henri Cartier-Bresson (French photographer)

    1. Lovely to read you, Linda. I had a very stressful weekend with unplanned and unpaid overtime, but am recovering (at work again) now. Thank you for your visit.

  5. Great photo Paula, that quote was really interesting.

    1. Tack Lena. I think that this quote really sums up what the right attitude in the process of taking photos is. Nowdays in the digital era it may not be so evident as in the film era, when photographers had to take a more cautious attitude when shooting. Today there are so many snappers that call themselves photographers (not saying of course that you are, but you must have noticed them around)

      1. I agree on all that and there are a lot of people calling themselves photographers nowdays. Instagram is filled with that kind.. 😉

  6. A creative Sunday… Hmm… Well, I’ve posted a photo for your challenge. Not sure if I’ll be more creative this Sunday, but I do have some vacuum cleaning and a visit to the gym on my to-do list this Sunday and I might be able to squeeze in some creativity there! I like your photo, it has this urbex feel to it, this dumporama style. 😀

I’m not sure if that’s the best solution…

  9. Every quote I’ve ever read from Cartier-Bresson has been wonderfully perceptive, this no exception. In your photo the curved bits of line add interest to the retreating perspective, as do the graffitied carriage, the buildings and the overhead wires and stuff. You ALWAYS value add – and I hope this weekend also been able to relax.

    1. I’ve just checked my phone for comments notification, and I thank you for your input. I am not relaxing at all (not even time to eat and much.less for anything else). As I said on Friday I.am working 30 unpaid hours this weekend which.consists in translating several dozens pages that will.ruin the company I work for and subsequently the country. See you.

      1. Oh, don’t tell me that! You have absolutely nothing to be critical about, but I know what you mean. Sometimes I don’t know what’s giving in faster – my eyes or my camera. None of my photos are to my liking and not even Lightroom edits makes me feel better about them. If I could take photos like you, then I’d be more than satisfied. 😀 ♥

  24. such a soothing music! talking about being critical about one’s shoots lately – my sentiments exactly (about my photos 😉 ) – subconscious projections of my state of mind reflected in them for sure. 30 hours of OT? not to mention unpaid! tough.
