For today’s challenge in black and white you are supposed to post a photo taken from above. Don’t let the fear of heights and vertigo stop you, you don’t have to climb high. Sometimes all it takes is to look down at your feet. My example is showing a view of 25 de Abril Bridge in Lisbon taken from the bottom of Cristo Rei statue. And, yes, I was dizzy looking down.Β
What a stunning photo Paul- the reflection of the bridge in the water makes it even more special. I did gasp when I first saw it as I have a fear of heights and the photo is so clear I felt as if I were actually standing looking at it. Amazing π
it’s official! you did it – made me regret that I didn’t go to the other side of Tagus to the Cristo Rei statue! :-). this is so good in B&W – subtle sky, sharp lines of the bridge and very pronounced shadow.
I did a transgression this week – instead of me being up, it’s them. hope you don’t mind π http://lessywannagohome.blogspot.be/2016/08/coming-from-above.html
I do too. This one turned 50 yesterday. Yes, it does look like Golden Gate, and its design was also based on another bridge SF-Oakland Bay and was built by the same American company that built the Oakland Bay bridge π
Oh Paula, I love that bridge, and that is a fantastic shot. Lovely sky and very strong lines for the bridge and its shadow

Thank you, Debbie. Cristo Rei statue has a great vantage point in the bay. I would love to go to Portugal again.

That is one dramatic shot. The bridge ‘arrows’ across a panorama of so many different textures.

Yes, you are the only one to have noticed the arrow. I am obliged, Tish and for the cooling towers too. Cheers!

I love bridges! And this looks great from above and in black and white. Very much like the Golden Gate bridge in SF π
