BLACK & WHITE SUNDAY: TYPICAL
TYPICAL. This is a typical shot of Venice, and typical is the theme for this week’s Black & White Sunday photo challenge. I hope you’ll find something you want to show or even go out and capture something typical for this occasion. Whatever your choices, please link to this challenge post and leave me a comment bellow. Sending you love and peace and wishes for a great week!

P.S. Will start looking at your entries tomorrow. Hopefully, I am somewhere in nature now looking at brooks and butterflies 🙂
Please have a look at these cool “typical” entries:

Oh yes, very typical! And very beautiful. I like it in b&W Paula- less typical that way

Sent too fast, didn’t finish – I hope you’re having a wonderful (and not too hot) Sunday Paula 🙂

Thank you for the sweet comment, Debbie. It was too hot, but it felt good to leave the city for a day at least 🙂

🙂 Very glad to hear that you like it, Debbie. I was hoping that B&W would make a difference. Thanks so much.

It’s different anyway with the long exposure and movement, but b&w is the extra touch.
I have a similar one that is very blue (gondolas in overnight covers) so I’m going to use your inspiration and check it out in monochrome.

😀 I have the blue one too, the one I used to make this one, and I have a night one too, the most glorious of all. I am saving my Venice for later – can’t used it all at once.

Well I’m not sure this is typical with your creative approach to the location. Hope you are enjoying the butterflies.

Hello my dear Linda. I am back from nature with my legs scratched, but I needed to get out of the city :D. So love your visits. xx

The “eternal city” (yes, I know that refers to Rome, normally) in the background versus the relatively ephemeral gondolas in the front – exquisite!

It can very well refer to Venice, and I hope it will as much as I hope that it will never sink down. Thank you for your raving comment. Made me happy 🙂

Sorry. You really can’t be typical, not if you tried really really hard! You vision is just too unique. It’s a stunning photo – that blurred foreground takes it light years from a typical shot!!!

Oooh, this is brilliant in monochrome, which, as Debs has said, renders it atypical!

It is interesting to note the differences of “typical.” I suppose it all stems from one’s perspective, experience, as well as location. While boats and water may be seen as “typical,” Venice, for me, is unique in so many ways. Such as forest and trees are typical…the name of this national forest, Medicine Bow, has an special history. https://ameditativejourney.wordpress.com/2017/06/25/black-white-sunday-typical/

What a stunning shot. How did you do this?

Hello Ark 🙂 I focused on the island in the background and used long exposure. Gondolas are never at rest, not even when they are tied down, they are light and always move in breeze. Long exposure emphasized their gentle swinging.

I like the blurry foreground and BW made the image dreamy. I think this is a not-so-typical approach to a typical scenery. 🙂
