THURSDAY’S SPECIAL: DARKNESS AND LIGHT

“They say there is no light without dark, no good without evil, no male without female, no right without wrong. That nothing can exist if it’s direct opposite does not also exist.”

  2. A great theme Paula, and what a fantastic image. The patterns in the water and the sloping land all lead us to that gorgeous light.
And wonderful music to go with it – perfect title and perfect melody. Thank you for such a relaxing post on a hectic day. Happy solstice Paula

    1. I captured this around this time last year. This year (the part after the holiday) has been so hectic and the work promises hell in the next year. Debbie, please forgive me for not finding time to check out blogs.

  9. A beautiful photo and lovely music, Paula. It’s so true there is opposition in all things. You can’t know the good, without experiencing the bad; health without sickness; happiness without sadness, etc. Wishing you a joyous Christmas and a very Happy New Year!

  16. Well, Paula, if I were the fairy godmother, my first magic trick would be to reduce your work load. Short of that, am sending love and best wishes for the holiday and beyond. Thank you too for hosting all these brilliant challenges. Your photos are always so original and inspirational. You’ve given us so many treats this year.

  18. Sunset and sunrise — both give us that sense of balance, though I like sunrise because of it’s poetic inference of continuation.

And that is a beautiful sunrise!

  31. HI Paula! It’s been awhile. It seems my WordPress Reader isn’t picking up on blogs I follow…sigh. I love the music included on this post as it invites me to visualize the sunrise in your image. Wouldn’t it be great if nature provided us with such soundtracks during moment such as this! A wondrous moment you have shared…thank you.

  32. A perfect photo for the winter solstice. My favourite sunset occurred a few days earlier, but will remain in my heart for some time to come. The winter sunsets are truly the best part of this time of year. Stay positive Paula throughout 2018.
