THURSDAY’S SPECIAL: SATURATION

I am sorry I can’t always keep this photo challenge a weekly event due to my ever increasing workload and stresses at work, but whenever I can I am happy to be here to challenge you and look at your entries. For this week I thought it would be a good idea to tackle “saturation”. It can be interpreted as colour saturation in photography – especially evident in the image post-processing, which is what I did in my examples below, but you can also take it from another angle. Did you know that you can be saturated with work too?

  1. Looks great in its saturation, Paula. It was needed and you added it subtly.
Good to have you back this week – I hope you can have a restful weekend when it comes.

  2. I was worrying about you, hon, and on the verge of emailing if you hadn’t posted today. Your presence here is always missed, Paula, but the first priority is your health and well being. Look after yourself, and come and challenge us when you can. Sending hugs 🙂 🙂

  4. Thank you for giving us this challenge, Paula, and you in the midst of work saturation too. My photo is a straightforward ‘view’ – ‘as is’ in Shropshire just now:

  8. Great photo and saturation, Paula. Such odd-looking tree growth. My first impression was huge snakes arising out of the ground! 😂 Sorry to hear that your work is so stressful. I hope you can find something that will give you joy. 💕

  11. Moss in my mind is one of the best things to saturate your color with. 😀 😀 Beautiful.

  13. The saturation really adds depth to your image. You picked a very good photo to use an example. I often fiddle with curves to get similar effects. I hadn’t realised simply increasing the saturation would do it.
I completely understand why you can’t keep up weekly challenges. I’m finding I can’t even keep up responding to challenges regularly at present. Work saturation/life saturation – it all seems to be on the increase. 🙂

  14. I’m down my usual PC and working with unfamiliar software and very few photographs. I got hacked to the degree that until it is fixed, it is closed down — with . my cell phone which is linked to it. So I did the best I can with limited tools and even more limited pictures. Maybe by the time this is posted, my PC will be back up — possible having burned in a new OS. I love computers, but they also make me crazy.

That is a very interesting tree! It could be a cage if you grew it right 😀

  18. Paula, you don’t have to apologise. I think we all understand and hope that work stresses lessen for you in time. I know I enjoy your prompts and when you have time I will enjoy joining you. When you don’t – I’ll wait patiently. Your saturation was lovely. I have shown a bit of double saturation this week

  29. Hi Paula – I like the deft touch you used in boosting the saturation so subtly! So often people over-saturate. Excellent technique. Best, Babsje
