I did not like my recent holiday, so I am posting old photos trying to inspire myself to travel some time again. That does not mean that I will not look at the photos that I took on my recent trip and post them, I just need time to forget the nuisance that came along with it.
Sorry if you saw those images before, but it is the best that I can do today.
The words for this month’s Pick a Word photo challenge:
FAMILIAR
SELECTED
NAUTICAL
REFRACTION
SPLENDID

P.S. WHY DOES WORDPRESS KEEP “IMPROVING” THIS SITE. I AM PAYING TOO MUCH MONEY TO BE ANNOYED WITH THEIR FUNCTIONALITIES.

Sorry to hear about your recent travels, Paula. I’m sure you’ll pull good things out of it over time.
Anyway, I enjoyed all the images you posted and I’ve gone with refraction for my contribution: https://travelwithintent.com/2023/07/27/stepping-into-the-light/

Hi Jo. Nothing major, no health issues, but real disappointment in hosts, quality of accommodation and general attitude. I really expected so much different.

Can I ask where? Not in detail, just country? Better luck next time 🩵🩵

Of course you may. Ireland – West coast. From Doolin to Portmagee over Dingle. They think we are there cause of them, not the other way around. I had a complete different picture of this nation.

A shame because it’s a beautiful country. We visited Rome in May and it was pure madness, but beautiful 🤣🩵. Mostly we’ve stayed in Portugal which has plenty of beauty of its own. One day I’ll make it to Croatia. Stay well!

I’m also frustrated with WP “improving” -making harder – what worked great.

Sorry about your recent trip. I enjoyed your “make up” photos, especially the last two. As for WP, don’t even get me started. When things are working perfectly well, why change them????

Janet, thank you. When I look at my post on my phone, some images are weirdly distorted. What did you use to see the post?

I was on my laptop and they looked fine. I just checked via my iPhone and they looked fine also.

Splendid, indeed! The last one in particular but really all of them. My favourite though, is the duck, it looks so mischievous.

Paula – gorgeous as always. I haven’t been well for a long time because of illness and death in my family, but I feel I am slowly coming back to myself again now. Sorry to hear about your trip, but those things will pass. ♥
I will have a go at your July challenge – glad to be back.

I’m sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your holiday Paula 🤗 Nevertheless you have, as always, given us an interesting set of words to play with! Here’s my offering:https://www.toonsarah-travels.blog/gallery-pick-a-word-july-2023/ As for yours, the selective edit on the turkey is super, the light in ‘nautical’ is lovely and that last shot (Torres del Paine? Or somewhere else in Patagonia??) is stunning 😮🗻⛰

Hi Sarah, the lake shot is from the Dolomites. I have never travelled outside Europe, but I am happy it made you think of Patagonia 😀 Thank you. I am very happy that you like my photos.

And I’ve never been to the Dolomites but with scenery like that maybe I should!

Hi Paula, The duck made me smile. The samples are splendid as always. Shit holidays are crap because you are paying for the crap you put up with. The next one will make up for it I am sure.
I use a PC most of the time and maybe because I am doing stuff all the time, I am used to the changes but that last one making it harder to have a link open in a new tab is frustrating.
Anyway here’s my lot xx

As it often happens, I was late to comment on your post. Sorry about it, Brian. Of all the shots, the familiar one really made gape. Thank you.

I absolutely agree about the changes. Leave it like it is! That said… Your rainbow shot is idyllic….
