P.S. For new comers to this blog this is a photo challenge that has been running for many years now (with some breaks), and it consists in interpreting the given words (one, or several or all five) in photos that you took. It was initially part of a broader challenge that ran on a couple of Thursdays per month hence the name Thursday’s Special. I did not abandon that name considering the possibility of posting more often in the future. I hope you will find something in this post that will make you join. Have fun!

    1. Thank you, dear Brian. I’ve just returned from a visit to your January’s edition. It is so lovely. I love the look of that beach and am especially delighted to see pens in so many colours. Thank you so much. I came late there and had to comment here. Sorry

  14. Wow, wonderful landscape words and photos! Where is Valentia Island? It looks stunning! I’ve stuck to England for my selection this month, as it’s hard to beat our landscapes: https://www.toonsarah-travels.blog/gallery-pick-a-word-january-2024/

    1. I totally agree. It is hard to beat Northumberland landscapes. Are you local there? Valentia Island is one of Ireland’s most westerly points. Thank you so much, Sarah 🙂

      1. No, I’m a Londoner and we live in west London. But my husband is from Newcastle and we visit the city often, and whenever we can we get out into the Northumberland countryside or coast 🙂
