THURSDAY’S SPECIAL: PICK A WORD – FEBRUARY 2024

Here comes the February edition of the Pick a Word challenge. I am afraid these are all pretty commmon words for you to play with in photos:

CHURNING

ERODED

GRAZING

MAJESTIC

SINGULAR

churning
eroded
grazing
majestic
singular

P.S. For new comers to this blog this is a photo challenge that has been running for many years now (with some breaks), and it consists in interpreting the given words (one, or several or all five) in photos that you took. It was initially part of a broader challenge that ran on a couple of Thursdays per month hence the name Thursday’s Special. I did not abandon that name considering the possibility of posting more often in the future. I hope you will find something in this post that will make you join. Have fun!

Info about images:

#1 Strokkur, Iceland’s most visited active geyser. The name Strokkur means churn, like in the old instrument for churning butter, and stems from the shape of its shaft.

#2 Gatklettur circular arch in Arnarstapi, fine eample of erosion

#3 Icelandic sheep grazing

#4 Gullfoss waterfall is located in the canyon of the Hvítá river in southwest Iceland.

#5 Buðir black church on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula really stands out, hence singular

I hate this WordPress site. I am not sure I will be able to post this. It does not even allow me to edit my own content and keeps pushing paid content option. This is so bad!!!!!

  1. We used to love Iceland, dear Paula. But the last time we have been there three years ago it was horribly touristy. We didn’t like it anymore.

  2. You obviously had a wonderful visit. Eroded and majestic are my favourites. WP presents many challenges these days as they strive to ‘improve’ things, but I can usually edit my posts.

  8. Maybe easy words but your photos are anything but, ever so good Paula. Majestic and Singular are my favourite, even though the look of expectation on the sheep is lovely. I’ll be back when I have had a llok for something suitable xx

  13. I love all these, so evocative of Iceland, one of my favourite countries. If I have to pick a favourite though it would be the last – the symmetry works so well! Like you I’ve opted to restrict myself to a single country this month: https://www.toonsarah-travels.blog/gallery-pick-a-word-february-2024/
