A Multi-coloured Dream

Puzzled by my recurring dream of water and boats I did some Internet search for a possible interpretation.

Here is what they have told me: “To dream that you are in or see a boat signifies your ability to cope with and express your emotions. To dream that you are in a rowboat symbolizes hard work and perseverance. You are coping with your problems and emotions in your own way and at your own pace. Consider the condition of the water…”

Since the water surface is calm, I guess I am facing some smooth sailing, and as there are several boats in the picture I think I should need some company on my way…;)

The attached music is by Alan Parsons Project: Freudiana II.

The theme of this post is a dream and an interpretation of it, but I also entered it for Marianne’s multicoloured challenge. On the following link you can find out more about her CBBH monthly photo challenge.

According to the propositions of the challenge I should mention two blogs I have commented on recently… It is my great pleasure to introduce you to Patti of nylondaze , and Stephen of stephenkellycreative blog. Patti will take you for a walk in the streets of NY, and Stephen will show you a lot of Frisco and teach you about art among other things. I enjoy both Patti’s and Stephen’s photography immensely.

    1. Hello Klaus 🙂 I did not know that fact about you :D. Did you like the music? Well, I removed “likes” as I noticed a lot of people out there just clicking “likes” on posts like crazy without even bothering to look at them. You can always give me stars if you feel like :). Now a silly question… do you enjoy your work as a psychoanalyst?

      Like

      1. Dear Paula,
it`s a funny synchronicity that I just was pushed to write my next post about dreams and dreaming. I studied Nordic literature, linguistic, and philosophy and therefore I worked about understanding symbolic languages (I became a psychoanalyst later). I always liked arts if it is literature, paintings or music. Never I worked with so called disturbed clients. I taught at several universities and worked with highly creative people in private practise.
Actually I knew that music and I can only say I like it. But to your Interpretation of that dream, of course, that`s right. But if I might play the advocatus diaboli I would ask you 2 questions:
        1. wouldn`t it be freeing making direct contact with the water as to swim? Are you afraid of direct contact with your feelings?
        2. you row, well, isn`t that very much controlled? What will happen if you would give up that control?
And concerning the colour of the boats: yellow is missing.
Anyway, if we start interpreting everything that`s the best way to insanity.
Thank you for visiting my blog and for all your comments I like.
        Happy dreaming, happy blogging
        Klausbernd
By the way I don`t answer those two questions here – that`s just for you.

        1. Dear Klausbernd, thank you very much for telling me about your career path :). it will be very inspiring to follow you, especially now when you have your blog bilingual :). You are right in saying that interpreting everything leads to insanity – being a language interpreter myself, I should know ;). You don’t want me to answer your questions here :D, Ok 🙂 They have left me wondering.. the yellow was cut out for the sake of composition.. by the way if you have time to reply what does yellow represent besides jealousy and energy? Best luck to you Klausbernd…. your comments have made my day 😀
