It is probably not good :D, but the photo is interesting. Anyway I have been reluctant to write ever since highschool, always thinking why would anybody be interested in what I have to say with all the great classics waiting to be read… Yes, I will post it cause it actually means something to me. It is short and will not be time-consuming for potential readers. Now, I am trying to make a poem for another post and it is hell 😀 I am having a couple of weeks where I need to be creative to ward off negative thoughts 😉

I have found, in general, people are positive when you write something of your own. I think your readers would be too as I have not noticed negative comments on your blog.

You have been on an animal path lately (I’m using a very limited form of “lately” – referring to today and yesterday) and we’ve seen a lot of cow and a dash of goat. When it comes to goat/sheep, I’ll openly admit (and I’m not afraid to do so either) that I’m a huge fan of lamb shanks, slowly braised in red wine & tomatoes.

I don’t mind that they eat your handbag or whatever else they can find. This one has a cute face 🙂
The lamb shank leads me to a moralistic tale. While looking at quite an extensive menu and trying to decide, the waiter appeared at my elbow to recommend the “tapas of the day”. I should have been wary because it had no price beside it, but imagining succulent chunks of lamb in a rich sauce, I followed his recommendation. My face must have been a picture when the dish was presented to me! It was quite beautiful (sorry, no photo- too gob-smacked!) with lovely roasties and tiny roast tomatoes, but the lamb shank was huge, all bone and not at all to my taste. Worse, the price 16.75 euros 😦

We have a fish tank but that doesn’t really count. 🙂 I love animals though and we have been talking about getting a dog of our own soon. For now I have to be content with dog-sitting my brothers sweet black lab, Heidi. She is here today sitting by my feet. 🙂

I would suggest that, on some level, everyone feels a slight bit of guilt when they read this.
You know, just about everyone I know has told me that they admire my ability to be myself in any situation.
But we all hide something about ourselves don’t we? We all have that portrait hidden in the attic where nobody will see it.
Of course, it bothers me that this saying bothers me. But I’m consoled by my suspicion that Andre Gide was going for sounding deep, with this one, rather than looking deep within.
But beyond my introspections, I wonder did Gide believe that it would be better for us personally? Or perhaps for the lovers and haters of us?
What about the powerful world leader who inspires with his charisma, but fights his depression when alone; the family man who keeps his family together and safe by keeping buried his aging lie; the friend who is a constant support and encouragement for those around him, but battles his addictions at home; the person who once had a thought that was so dark that he would be locked away for thinking it… and he must live quietly with himself, knowing he enjoyed thinking it?
If the truth of us were completely exposed, God save us.
