There is something about this sculpture, it calms one down, I feel.

Probably Montaigne had a direct influence on authors all over the world, like William Shakespeare, René Descartes, Stefan Zweig, Friedrich Nietzsche and many more – reminds me a bit of english Thomas More and dutch Erasmus of Rotterdam – they were from the same time of history and have a lot in common I think… 🙂

(Couldn’t agree more!) Félicitations, congratulations for displaying Montaigne’s statue, Rue des Ecoles. One of my first stops whenever I go to Paris. Most people just by the statue disregarding of of the first (and one of the greatest) writers of all time. The first, probably to look into himself to understand his human nature. Merci infiniment!
