  1. That quote holds so true for when I travelled when I was young. Travelling alone was fine but it would have been nice to have someone to tell. 🙂 Amazing photograph.

  2. Beautiful blueberry shot Paula. Did you taste it afterwards?

    1. It wasn’t a blueberry, and hubby would not let me experiment 😀 If I had been alone, it would have probably ended in my mouth….

  4. Great photo — love that blue! I must say I do enjoy my solitude on those rare occasions! But part of the enjoyment is knowing that it won’t last! 😀

  5. Outstanding photo, love that color. I must say that with the exception of my wife and daughter I have no problem with solitude. I prefer to hike, backpack, and photograph alone much more than.

    1. Well, I could not agree more. Solitude can be/is a great companion. It is very nice to catch up with you Jeff. I have disregarded all the blogs I like a lot too, especially since I started language teaching/learning (free of costs) blog :D. Thank you for everything 🙂

      1. For the right person with the right mindset there is nothing wrong with being alone. Glad to hear you’ve been busy. Any thoughts/interest into trying to monetize the language blog? I’m sure there are plenty of people out there who’d be more than willing to pay to learn a second language. It would sure beat working for a slice of pizza 😉

        1. Honestly, I never came close to considering it (making it profitable). Hubby suggested when my idea was born that I might provide an account for donations – so far the interest in my blog is so minimum that there is no point in providing an account 😀 (I really don’t mind – as long as I teach I will learn – and learning is something that makes me happy by itself 🙂 )

  6. Perfect quote and so true – reminds me last year I met a person who praised selfishness as a necessary character traits – I then asked him who he would be selfish to when he want to be selfish – don’t think he got the point… 😀

Easy to see the mood of this berry, indeed blue… 😀

    Very well captured… 🙂

  7. That soft suede blue is such a stand-out and, as solitary as it is, it really does own the space! A beautiful shot Paula!

    1. YES, suede it is. THANK YOU, Patti, for always coming up with the best description 🙂 I think the fact that I deliberately muted the background tones helped it stand out 😉

As far as working, I’m a market researcher. Had a company of my own for fifteen years. Sold it. Just doing consultancy now. No problemo! Cuando ves el dolor que otros sufren… I’m ok. Il faut faire avec!

  16. Beautifully photographed, Paula. To truly appreciate solitude, we need to have experienced being in a crowd. Can you guess who I took that quote from? 🙂

  19. Have you ‘injected’ the blue colour, Paula, or was it that way already? It’s a striking shot, whichever way it happened and I like it very much. 🙂

As an afterthought, Paula- I was up-to-date with your lessons up to 12 but don’t have any prospects of continuing this weekend. I’ll get to them eventually 🙂

    1. I shoot raw and I need to post process my images. I remember it being that blue. I did not notice you having problems with our friends’ over edited images.

      1. I asked because I know there is a technique where you can impose a patch of colour on black and white and it reminded me of that process. It wasn’t a criticism. 😦

  20. What a photo Paula. Suggests a heap of ideas about solitude: it’s splendour (that magnificent blue), but also the chewed up, neglected feeling it can sometimes produce. The image is so pared away it actually glows. Thanks for a Sunday treat (I know! I’ve been hanging out in the “real” world for a few days.)
