  5. Principal and pupil? That’s what the body language says to me, but then I’ve been thinking about my teaching life. I like the starkness of the surrounds – all context obliterated. Speaks opposites in many ways beyond the obvious size.

  14. I like the colours in this – the way the same mottled hues of the pebbles behind are repeated, in differing degrees, in the plumage of the swan and crow. Can imagine this being transformed into some kind of lino print. Well caught though – very big bird and not so little bird. And yes, crows are bound to be the winners in any game.

  24. Hi Paula, I love that picture – it has a lot of potential for interpretations.
