In or out of season, that looks a beautiful spot, Paula.
Thank you, Debbie. This is a well-known ski spot in Slovakia. It is normally well visited in summer too, but as you recall last summer was anything but summer and the whole season was off hence my choice. Are you at the hoffice now, or travelling? 😉
Thank you, Gerry 🙂 I admit it looks romantic with those dark clouds.

Such a sense of peace in your photo, Paula.
Yes, there is tranquility and isolation in this scene 🙂 Thank you kindly Janet.
Great photo, liked the song, was that the floyd?
Thank you. The song is a cover of Floyd by Mostly Autumn 😉
Cool, thought it was a bit different.
I wanted to show people a bit different version 😉 Thank you for listening.
Love the muted colours and the gleaming water, Paula. A happy weekend to you! 🙂
Have a great weekend, Jo, and thank you 🙂
Beautiful Paula! The clouds make the mountains in the background so mysterious.
Thank you, Jesh. I was a bit peeved with bad weather, but the photos turned out interesting.
WOW incredible views
Dziekuje Luke. Have a good weekend!
For you also nice
Superbe cette vue avec reflet, tu as réussi à capter une atmosphère bien particulière.
C’est un lac en Slovaquie 🙂 Merci bien ma belle.
🙂 Štrbske pleso in Slovakia
Yes I know, my dear – not the place but the fact that I have to “lift my axx” and visit those ‘spots’ I haven’t visited yet… 😀
By the way, have you visited the corsican place I posted the other day… 😀
Not from the sea 🙂
Actually so I cheated a little bit – I stood on some low rocks that stretched out a little in the water, a meter or two – but they were wet… 😀

Who does not like ski jumping?
I have never tried it 🙂
neither did I! too scary, I like to watch 😉
You like it??
🙂 Thank you, Leya
It looks like such a beautiful spot I’d go in or off season. Love the reflection in the lake and the ripples on the water.
It is one of the most touristy natural spots in Slovakia, best known as a ski location. Thank you for your nice visit and comment, Irene.
What a sight! Great click Paula.
🙂 Thanks, buddy.
What a lovely spot, Paula. It reminds me of some of our alpine lakes. 🙂
🙂 I’m glad to hear that Lisa. This is far away from you in High Tatras of Slovakia 🙂
Music gives another dimension to your pictures. LOVELY!
Thank you, Radomir 🙂 Glad you like it.
I agree – ” tranquility and isolation” is what I felt with this scene – and the music is so cool P –
I could use some of that tranquility now too. How are you doing Yvette? It is crazy hot here.
Hi P – it is crazy hot here too -even the dogs do not want to be in the yard. My mom is here visiting and so that is a highlight for me this month. anyhow, sending you a cool splash of something to help beat the heat
Thank you, Yvette. Talk soon xo
One of my faves…
Thank you for telling me, Anna 🙂
Cobalt blue mountains, and boiling sky. This looks great on the enlargement. I want to go there.
and I suspect that mountains in Canada are more appealing 🙂 Thanks, Allan.
Looks very early spring or late fall. Love the glowering skies.
and it was in the mid-summer 😉 Thanks Marilyn
What a gorgeous location and the music is perfect for it! 🙂
Thank you very much Linda and for listening to music too. 🙂
I’d love to be on the water, in a canoe enjoying the serenity of this place.
Yes, this is my favourite way to enjoy water in the mountains too, not the ski slopes 🙂 I hope that your weekend is restful and fun, Mark.
Wow! So beautiful, no matter the season I suspect. Great photo, Paula.
🙂 It is a well-known tourist spot in High Tatras of Slovakia. That lousy weather made the path around the lake less crowded and mysterious with clouds stuck on peaks. Thank you dearest Draco 🙂
Until later, my blogging friend. I’m taking a break from comment while I get from jet lag to the next life venue. I’ll be back – your photos are irresistible.
Take care, Meg.
A beautiful landscape. I love the dramatic clouds, that you’ve made even more dramatic with your processing.
True on both accounts 😀 see you later 🙂
A magic mountain indeed!
I love the blues in this photo, seems very peaceful to me.
A really lovely image Paula. Very tranquil. 🙂
Thank you, precious 🙂 If you wonder about the music it is a cover of Pink Floyd’s Echoes by Mostly Autumn 🙂
I did listen to it briefly, but am rather pressed for time these days, being on holiday here.
I understand Sylvia 🙂 Enjoy your off time 🙂 We’ll catch up
What a beautiful shot, Paula. Great cloud cover and amazing reflection captured. The trees in the foreground frame the shot so well. Lovely. Looks like a very peaceful spot to take a hike or a walk, soaking up the beauty of nature and invigorate the soul 🙂
This is a lovely description of the place you haven’t visited in person. I am flattered, Mabel. Thank you.
Perhaps all the more tranquil for being off season? Love the music Paula.
Truth be told summer is the peak season there, but bad weather did the trick 😉
