Thursday’s Special: Traces of the Past 03

For the third time this year Thursday’s Special is bringing you a challenge dedicated to past. It can be a distant past or a recent one. It can be a past that is abandoned and about to be forgotten, or past that is still functional and intertwined with present.

My example is one of England’s most iconic structures that most of you will be able recognise and locate.

I am curious to see what traces of the past you have found on your travels or in your home town. Please, join me in this challenge and share a past-related photo post.

P.S. I’ve heard from a confidential source that the attached score is one of the Queen’s favourite songs.

  1. Oh that glorious sky, and the proud flag. I used to collect English castle postcards when I was a child – more documentary, than beautifully atmospheric like this. Thanks for the reminder of my past, and another lovely image.

  10. Lovely position to capture the Tower. The ominous clouds add to the atmosphere. I was just listening to the song in the car this afternoon on a cd. It suits the Tower and such a light hearted though poignant look at a murdress. Mine http://irenewaters19.com/2015/08/27/thursdays-special-traces-of-the-past-03-the-gradation-house-at-bad-durkheim/
