What a completely magnificent photo: mist, clouds, and snow. Is that a road?? It’s spectacular, but I don’t want to drive it. Where is it?
It is Passo Stelvio in Italy, Meg. Yes, it is a road a narrow one, but we crossed narrower this summer. I like the thrill of serpentine roads. Thank you for your nice comment.
I, too, love the thrill of serpentine roads…this one is my favourite, sadly I no longer drive the distances thes days, so unlikely to do any more…
Hi Sue, I was sure you would recognise the road.
It was a great road to drive in an old sportscar, I have always said I don’t enjoy driving in a straight line, give me some bends!
When were you there?
Late ’90s, then again in 2003
You got to see it twice 🙂
Yep! Once in good weather, once in fog on the Austrian side….
You mean Swiss side?
An honest mistake really 😀
I feel terror on serpentine roads! Or even roads with a steep drop-off.
Back to yourself and quick off the mark again- I love it, Paula. 🙂 I have lots to do tonight and a very poor Internet connection so I’m glad I caught you before I check out. Fabulous! My kind of road (but I’m never the driver 🙂 ) Sending big hugs. Hope you have a good weekend.
You too, Jo. Have a great weekend. (I’m never the driver either, so I can enjoy it fully :D) Thank you for the visit. Hugs xx
Great answer to the challenge, Paula!
🙂 many thanks my dear
Wow… What a stunning image, Paula 🙂
Perfect for the theme…
I really missed your beautiful images and music for a long time…
This image reminds me of the narrow roads in the Himalayas…
Thank you so much for sharing and hope you are doing great 🙂
Hello Sreejith, I’m glad to see you again. I have been absent for months in the recent past, and then busy, but things are looking better these days. I really look forward to catching up with you. I don’t think I will be going to Himalayas and I consider this a huge compliment. This was taken on my recent holiday in Italy.
Yes Paula, it’s been a long time 🙂
Even I had taken a hibernation in between, and now feel great to be back 🙂
I had taken a trip to the Himalayas recently and seen many a narrow roads like this.
I have a few friends in Italy and seen many an images from the mountain regions, they looked great.
I certainly would like to explore this region, but not sure, when???
Have a nice weekend 🙂
Sono senza parole!
Sai quanto mi piace la tua patria, Anna 🙂
E tu , come sai apprezzare e valorizzare ogni cosa!
a breathtaking image/landscape. road looks like a scribble.

What an amazing photo Paula! Those roads are unlike anything I have seen before. You like narrow windy roads? You must have nerves of steel my friend! Wonderful capture
Excellent shot – beautiful, beautiful – and narrowness present.
Beautiful scene, Paula. I’m not sure I would enjoy narrow roads in those mountains! 🙃
It looked familiar… Passo Stelvio… Great shot!
Glad you like it, Meg. Thank you.
what an amazing spot and you have captured it wonderfully Paula
Wow what a great serpentine road, some years ago we crossed the alps on our way to Italy on such serpentine roads. Love this picture because it brings memories back !
Such an amazing image, Paula, and very fitting for the challenge. 🙂
Happy you like it precious 🙂
Such a beautiful image Paula. Can I ask where the image is from?
Hi Sue. It’s Passo Stelvio in Italy, close to the border with Switzerland.
So gorgeous Paula. Did you have a good vacation?
It was wonderful, Sue. We have seen so many things and had perfect weather. Thank you for asking 🙂
Thank you, Marilyn.

So you are this late, this time 😀
nope lol..this early dis time 🙂 hehe…..

Ahh Stelvio, I’ve seen it on TV, but your photo is brilliant!
Cheers Gilly. It was breathtaking to see in person.
A very nice interpretation of ‘narrow’…. How’s the music related?
No real connection. I pick scores according to my current inspiration, the one I think would accompany image best. Sometimes I hear music and take a photo afterwards. Inspiration comes from different sources.
