Hell’s Mouth – Not so Hellish

One of the first stops during my visit to Portugal was Boca do Inferno which in English translates as:  Hell’s Mouth. It was early May and the air temperature rose above 35 Celsius. The ocean was unusually calm and nothing suggested the raging waves this spot is known for.

  2. I love the contrasts between the textures pf the water and the rocks. Just beautiful Paula- and the perspective- the rocks appearing to get smaller as the vantage point changes. Just beautiful. Like the music too 🙂 Have a great Monday!

      1. I’d love to know who that singer is! Would you mind sharing? I’d love to get some of her music. 🙂

        1. Absolutely not. It is the voice of Dulce Pontes, my favourite Portuguese singer. Look her up on you tube. There is a wonderful tune by Morricone: Your Love.

          1. Thanks so much, Paula. I will definitely look her up. Is her music considered fado?

            1. In fact here is the tune I mentioned https://bopaula.wordpress.com/2014/11/13/thursdays-special-warmth-photo-101/ She sings fado, but not just fado.

  7. Thank you so much, sweetheart! 🙂 🙂 Stunning shot. I’ve never been to that precise spot but my elderly neighbours in the Algarve have a home there. It’s a very old, draughty house and they like to spend Summers at the beach, much further south. Lovely music. I’m soothed now. 🙂
