Thursday’s Special: Calm

I don’t know about you, but I could use a bit of calm this time of year.

CALM in nature, in a closed space, or a metaphor for calm within you – there is a number of choices to interpret today’s theme.

I look forward to seeing your entries for this challenge which you may post any time before 24 November. In the meantime, have a calm and happy Thursday!

  3. Paula,

Lovely photo and one of the truly calming things in my life is water: A majestic lake, the dynamic power of a river, the quietness of a small pond or stream and the vastness of the ocean. Great capture. I hope this finds you and your well.

    Peace~John

  6. What an idyllic vista. Although it is calming it makes me think of romance which perhaps quickens the pulse a little too much. Beautiful image.

  8. All those greens, and the floaties on that still water. Every blade of grass and bark fissure so clear and distinct. And then those beautiful boats. Your photo is the epitome of calm.

    1. Thank you so much, Meg. It amazed me how completely calm the surface was. Nothing could disturb that water.

  10. Yes, I think it will be, thanks, Paula. 🙂 And this afternoon I have a t’ai chi class which will certainly help. But I’d much prefer to jump in that boat and splash away. My rowing would absolutely disturb your beautiful calm. Hugs, sweetheart!

  17. A most tranquil scene – I love the boats floating under the tree – the scene reminds me of Lake Bled. Water is always calming I think, unless during a winter storm on the coast! Very blustery here today Paula, I shall see what calm images I have lurking in the digital shoe box for you. Happy Thursday!

    1. Thank you very much, Jude. The boats on Bled are very different. I should go back there to take a decent photograph. Yes, water is purifier and energizer in almost all of its forms. This calm surface belongs to the river Mincio near Mantua. I appreciate your nice comment and I look forward to some calm response from you 🙂

        1. This is just a common boat. I was thinking of pletna, typical boat on Bled.
