BLACK & WHITE SUNDAY: TEXTURE
Sad looking or maybe just resignated to a life in a few square meters; not easy to tell when looking at this captivated gibbon’s face.
The texture of his hair and skin is fascinating, so much so that I decided to feature him for today’s photo theme TEXTURE.
Maybe you’d like to join me for this challenge and show your examples of texture in black and white. The deadline this time is next Saturday.

**** The next Black & White Sunday will be on 17 December with the theme Traces of the Past, and there will be one more on the last day of this year with the theme After and Before.
*** The music in this post is a wonderful example of different textures too 🙂
Please have a look at these great examples of TEXTURE:

What beautiful fur. I can almost feel it. Wonderful. My dogs don’t look soft. They look grubby. This is because — they ARE grubby.

Such a sad little face, I want to cuddle him! But I don’t think he’d appreciate that at all. Superb ‘capture’, Paula. 🙂 🙂 Happy and peaceful Sunday to you!

Oh he does look sad, but so cute too. Great shot Paula. But I wouldn’t want you taking my portrait when you can show wrinkles that well!!
I’ve gone for the old streets of Arles: https://travelwithintent.com/2017/12/03/arles-france-texture-dog-night-photography/

Maybe that’s just his natural look, like some people have a RBF (resting bitch face) he might have a RSA (resting sad face) – who knows? But the portrait is wonderful, with the contrast of different kinds of fur, his little moustach and the wrinkled skin.

This is such a touching shot, Paula. There seems to be so much going on in the gibbon’s mind, and s/he does indeed look sad. Here’s my texture:https://tishfarrell.com/2017/12/03/frosted-bracken-black-white-sunday/

I think if I was to be locked up in a cage instead of swinging through the trees I’d have a face like that too. Such an exquisite capture Paula – wrinkles and all 🙂

Looks like he might be playing chess and with that expression his opponent just took his queen!

I can’t believe how sad and lost he looks and that we are all, in part, responsible for his situation. I don’t know what the answer is and even the question is not easy to frame!

You look at that face and you have to accept that consciousness is shared by all primates. I love that the photo means that you can virtually (as in the sense of virtual reality) touch this face.
