Not a typical view, and hardly a view that anybody outside the town would recognize; I give you the tallest tower of the Italian Medieval “Manhattan”.

This is my entry for today’s #photo101 project.

How tall is it? Do you know?

97 meters – does not seem like much, but I assure you it is impressive 🙂

I love your daily presence in my blogosphere! And I devour bricks, my favourite building material. In this photo, strong vertical lines and empty space mark you as a daring photographer with a wonderful eye.

Cool shot. I assume this was an observation or defensive tower in days gone by. I’d want to go inside and go up to the top. A nice hotel view, you did well to get it. 🙂

It was a matter of prestige to have its own tower back in the old days… Yes, I did 😛 (me smug)

A really beautiful piece of architecture, Paula. Interesting to know that there’s an “Italian Medieval “Manhattan”. Lovely theme music to accompany your photo. 🙂

Lovely, Paula. I do like to see an untypical view. And even better when it’s somewhere I haven’t been – yet 🙂

Beautifully shot all slightly hazed. It looks foreboding, imposing and formidable; makes me think of the keep in the story about The Man in the Iron Mask.

Ah, the Torre degli Asinelli! A wonderful perspective Paula. From Your window I presume? Did you climb up to the top? I didn’t have time to do that sadly.

No, we didn’t, but we didn’t plan on it either. We were there very shortly though we spent the night. We came in the evening, left the hotel in the morning and had some 2 hours of sightseeing.
