THURSDAY’S SPECIAL: TRACES OF THE PAST Y3-03

This month it is time to tackle  Traces of the Past in colour again. My photo shows a panorama of old Mantua (Italy) with the skyline that seems to pertain to some other times. There is no question that the former Duchy of Mantua (Mantova in Italian) still bears many traces of its glorious past.

For this recurrent challenge you are free to choose whatever traces of the past you can find. It does not have to be a distant one, or rich in history; it can be something personal, or it can even have a human form. Just this once the deadline is in two weeks. So, see you all after my break on 23rd March when the next challenge is due. On the UPDATES page you can find more details.

  7. Stunning photo, Paula. What gorgeous colours and reflections. I can see that it has traces in the past but good to see that is still with us in the present.
And I enjoyed the music – I listened as I went off to bed last night.

Have a wonderful trip to Veneto. I went to Padua many, many years ago and loved it (I stayed there as a cheap way of seeing Venice and was surprised at how wonderful it is in its own right), but apart from that I haven’t seen anything but Venice. I’ll enjoy seeing it through your images when you get back.

    Happy relaxation!

How did you get the water to look like glass? What a stunning photo- but I think I told you that already! Hope you are well. Glad you are back

    1. Why would I mind, Lisa. On the contrary I am glad the challenge prompted you to do so. Time flies, that’s for sure. I am busier now than before my holiday. The smooth surface is obtained with long exposure (using tripod). There were some obstacles on the water that I had to remove in post processing too.
