Thursday’s Special: Green & White against Blue

Perched high on a promontory overlooking the Corsican Gulf of Saint-Florent, the polychromatic church of San Michele is the finest representative of the Pisan-Romanesque style architecture on Corsica. Its green and white serpentine and limestone walls date back to the 12th century.

I captured this jewel glistening beautifully in the late summer sun amidst dramatic and seductive Corsican landscape.

To complete your experience please listen to a traditional Medieval polyphonic chant performed by Corsican group “A Filleta”

**About Thursday’s Special: It is a ‘non-challenge’ challenge that appeals to bloggers eager to wake up their creativity and show their own ideas and interpretation of the world. I invite everybody interested to join in. There are no themes, titles and techniques set for your expression, there are no limits and restrictions (no red tape whatsoever). Thursday’s Special: è u tempu sà (and the time knows)

When I saw this bunker on Corsica from WWII I thought of the Cardinal. It looks like something he would have loved to photograph 😉

And here it is from a different angle. I like this one better.

Un Sognu Pè Campà / Un Rêve Pour Vivre

I have always looked forward to Autumn, but this year I would like to have my late Corsican Summer back. Here is my dream as I have lived it and hope to live it again.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Good Morning!

To be honest, on a regular day I don’t go around with my camera, not even with my phone snapping pics the moment I wake up, but on my holidays it happens sometimes.

This is what I found on my first early morning during my exploration of Corsica: an intimate beach lined with messy trees, bunkers, scarce houses, but I loved the ever changing scenery and vegetation.

Please listen to the attached track Una Antra Matina.

Corsica: Just the beginning

Some of you know I’ve been away for eight days exploring Corsica. It has been all that I had expected and more :).

The first photo in the series was taken on my first morning walk on the beach where I was staying in a small town of  San Fiurenzu. Please listen to some Corsican music while you are here.

Thank you for all the comments and visits while I was away.

Love,

Paula
